FAEMINA first model anni '50

sn 3352

FAEMA began The production of Faemina in the early '50s, as evidenced by the patent.

is a sturdy machine, with piston actuated by a spring, closed boiler and the steam tap. Has two heating element, 200W and 800W, which can be individually switched on via its switch.

This is one of the first models produced, as can be seen from the number engraved on the label

The first model is recognizable not only by the label with a red background, but even by the following details:

indicators on/off and min/max

lever switches

holder filter with spout screwed

The machine can be dismounted but it takes some special tools

In particular, the major obstacle is the removal of the brass sleeve, which is necessary in order to remove the piston.

you must use a wrench with two pins that fit into the two holes of the sleeve

after removing the sleeve, you can unscrew the small disk that holds the base of the piston

if you want to remove even the piston, must compress the spring upwards, to remove the pin that locks the shaft

to compress the spring I used an old car jack, with a thickness of metal to push the piston upwards

after removing the pin, the car jack can be lowered to release the piston with the spring

Finally, be unscrewed with a pipe wrench 26, the nut that locks the shaft piston seal

and finally here are all the parts of the group, after cleaning, with the gaskets on the side

the wiring diagram has not particularity

the machine operation is very simple, the two switches must be operated (red and max), then we wait for the steam that flow out from safety valve and operate the switching from maximum to minimum
