GAGGIA - GILDA first model |
The machine, whose patent was filed by Gaggia in 1952, is the first model of espresso lever machine for domestic use.

The machine is closed-boiler with safety valve (set at 1 atmosphere) with steam pipe and cap boiler with thermometer function.
It has no serial number but only the label in metal common to all machines manufactured by Gaggia in that years.
Made almost entirely of aluminum, is characterized by the features black bakelite handles and brand engraving on the sleeve in aluminum.

The machine is in excellent condition, although of course the seals are not in efficiency.
For disassemble the
machine, you must remove the top cover, fixed to central rod by means a bolt.
To make espresso you
should do the following: fill the water tank, plug in and turn the switch. After
a few minutes the temperature of the thermometer begins to rise. Just reaches 90
° or exits steam from the pipe, turn off the machine. Insert the filter holder
with coffee. Raise the lever and after about 20 seconds push it down firmly.
